This abstract explores the use of laser technology in the surface finishing of solid wood, specifically using a CO2 laser. Laser engraving is becoming an increasingly popular method for modifying the surface of wood, allowing the creation of precise patterns and reliefs with high accuracy. This thesis focuses on the technological aspects of laser engraving of wood, including surface preparation processes, the interactions of the laser beam with the wood and the effects of these interactions on the properties of the resulting products. It also discusses the surface treatment of wood after laser processing, including protective and aesthetic procedures that further enhance the properties and visual aspect of the modified wood surfaces. The main objective of this study is to identify the optimal procedures for achieving the desired properties and aesthetic appearance of wood surfaces modified by laser technology, thus contributing to the development of modern wood surface treatment methods.
