    The experiment demonstrates the effect of using plant hormones on the establishment and subsequent growth of the root systems of selected rootstocks used for growing stone and pome fruits. The experiment was conducted in 2003, and repeated in 2004. The following rootstocks were selected for this study: the peach seedling 'Montclare', 'GF 305', 'Myrobalan', and the pear seedling. Seeds were treated with various solutions of plant hormones. At the end of the growing season, seedlings were evaluated for successful establishment, thickness of the root base, thickness below the root base, development of the root system, the number of roots and the length of the main root.
