Description of developmental stages in Crown daisies (Glebionis Cass., Asteraceae - Anthemidae)
Original language description
A standardized system for describing the developmental stages in crown daisies is described, in response to the increasingly sophisticated demands of today's "high-tech" horticulture. The development scale is divided into vegetative (V) a generative (R)stages. Vegetative plant development stages are based on the emergence and development of a number of main stem leaves. The four generative stages begin with inflorescence development and are determined by flowering, wilting and seed maturity. Use of standardized growth stages should lead to a more uniform application of agronomic treatments and better research records, and so to a general improvement in cultural practices.
