Experiences on Grape Rootstocks Resistance to Phylloxera in Czech Republic.
Original language description
Grape phylloxera, Viteus vitifolii Shimer, is one of most destructive insect pest of cultivated grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) worldwide. Phylloxera was the cause of incomparable structural changes in European viticulture. It also led to the usage of a new technique -- rootstocks for grape varieties. The aim of this research is testing of grape rootstock varieties and clones that are used in the Czech Republic, and new rootstock hybrids from crossing Kober 125 AA x Börner. Rootstocks were evaluated with pottrials. Resistance against phylloxera in roots and leaves was evaluated. Good resistance was found for most tested rootstock varieties. 'SO4' PO0/7 and 'Craciunel 2' PO 0/6 showed very good resistance. It is interesting that hybrid 'Kl' x 'SO4' also showed a relatively good resistance. This promising Franco-American hybrid deserves further examination thanks to its good growing properties. After a long time, this research offers new results about rootstock and phylloxera interactions un
