Rootstock effect on the K/Mg ratio in leaf petioles of 'Cerason' grapevine
Original language description
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the rootstock cultivar on contents of potassium (K) and magnesium (Mg) and on the ratio of these elements in leaf petioles in a new resistant grapevine cultivar, 'Cerason'. In phenological stage BBCH 85, the lowest K/Mg ratio was found in vines grafted on rootstocks Amos (0.53) and K1xSO4 (0.35). Symptoms of potassium deficiency were obvious in the rootstock cultivar Amos. Values close to an optimum were recorded in rootstocks Borner (2.62), Teleki 5C (2.58), Craciunel 2 (1.98) and Kober 125 AA (1.94). As far as nutrient uptake is concerned, the choice of a suitable rootstock cultivar plays a very important role. The research results indicate that with respect to uptake of these two nutrients, rootstocks Borner, Teleki 5C, Craciunel 2 and Kober 125 AA are the most suitable ones.
