New Outputs From Old Growth Research Applicable in Silviculture
Original language description
Climate change and the associated disintegration of coniferous forests are increasingly challenging the question of whether we can use the creative forces of nature to grow forests. The paper presents two examples of the use of new knowledge in forests with a higher proportion of spruce. The future of spruce and its contribution to future economic forests is a key issue in Central European forestry. The story of research into the dynamics of mixed Central European forests shows not only the sometimes long-term and demanding path to an exact understanding of natural processes, but also brings us a clear message for application in forestry.
