Use of Molecular Genetic Techniques for Characterization of Plant Genetic Resources
Original language description
There are several collections of PGR maintained by Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice. The collections of apricots, peaches and grapevine belong among the largest vegetatively propagated ones supported by the National Program on Plant genetic Resources and Utilization in the Czech Republic. Within the field genebank 1650 accessions of noticed and other species (soybean, some flowers and vegetables) have been gathered. All institutions dealing with plant genetic resources in frames of National Program have to perform an evaluation of them. The field collections of vegetatively propagated species should be evaluated every year. We have already characterized 50 items of apricots, 60 items of peaches and 19 items of soybean within PGR collections by meansof RAPD profiles.
