Biological Indicators of Soil Quality
Original language description
In order to characterize some reliable indicators of soil quality, ten unaffected and anthropogenically-affected sites ws repeatedly analyzed for more than 20 microbiological wereparameters. It was concluded, that representation of microbial biomass in soil organic carbon, respiration quotient (qCO2), counts of free-living N2 -fixers, potentional soil respiration and capability of soil microflora to use the added organic substrate (lucerne meal) both for synthesis of new biomass and humic acids or for respiration serve as sensitive indicators of soil quality.
