Association of H-FABP gene with intramuscular fat expression in pigs
Original language description
The porcine heart fatty acid binding protein H-FABP is hypothesized to regulate intramuscular fat (IMF) accretion. IMF can only be measured on slaughtered animals and in this respect is very promising for marker-assisted selection (MAS) in breeding programs. here were not in our study to confirm association and influence in the H-FABP gene variation with IMT, nevertheless the result was near of significancy. Our results revealed significant differences among H-FABP genotypes in Hinf I polymorphic site. These differences were in pigs genotyped HH and Hh [0,03]. In contrast any difference in IMT was not to confirm between two homozygous.
