The polymorphism of MSTN, PRNP and CSN3 genes in Charolais cattle

Original language description

Investigations were conducted on two groups of Charolais cattle - one consisted of 130 adult pedigree anamals and the other of 79 young pedigree bulls. The frequency of genotypes and alleles of mutation Q204X at locus MSTN was determined in animals of both groups, while the frequency of alleles at loci PRNP and CSN3 only in the group of 130 adult animals. The genotypes of individual loci were determined with the PCR-RFLP method. The following genotype frequencies were found (in %): MSTN - AA = 0, Ab = 4, BB = 96; PRNP - 5/5 = 1, 5/6 = 12, 6/6 = 87; CSN3 - AA = 18, AB = 61, BB = 21.
