Genetic distances between wild boars populations
Original language description
An exponential growth of molecular genetics knowledge finds its application in forestry disciplines including hunting. Two very similar populations of wild boar occur on the territory of Europe ? a population of Central European wild boar (Sus scrofa scrofa LINNAEUS, 1758) and a population of Carpathian wild boar (Sus scrofa attila THOMAS, 1992) which are distinguished on the basis of slight phenotypic differences within zoological taxonomy. Our work focused on the detection of homogeneity, heterogeneity and genetic distances between five genes. The goal of our work was to obtain genetic information on the consistency or the difference between such populations.
