Biochemical parameters of rumen fluid when feeding silages with different acidity.
Original language description
The effect of' silage high acid content added to ration on the rumen fermentation process and rumen infusoria was studied in an experiment. The feeding ration contained 26 kg maize silage, 13 kg alfalfa silage, 1 kg meadow hay and 8 kg corn mixture. Cowsfrom the experimental group were fed the feeding ration with maize silage inoculated, which indicated higher contents of' fermentation acids. The rumen fluid was taken perorally af'ter 2-3 hours after feeding. The higher total content of' acids and of lactic acid in the rumen fluid was found as compared with fluid in cows from the untreated group. The differences between pH, number of' infusoria, LA content and total acid content were significant. Activity of the rumen microf'lora was in milk cows fromthe experimental group decreased significantly as compared with that in milk cows from the control group.
