Original language description
During the years 1998-2002 prevalence of dogs´ endoparasites was tested in the rural areas of South Moravia, considering parasites of specieal zoonotic importance, especially Toxocara canis. Faecal samples of 522 adult dogs and 238 pups were examined byflotation and Baermann methods. The prevalence of T. canis found was 12.6% in adult dogs and 23.9 % in pups. The material gathered was also used for detecion of the prevalence of all other endoparasites of dogs. Component of our work was also an inquirywithin the laymen to find whether they have any knowledge of anthropozoonoses and possibilities of their eradication.
