    The aim of the paper is to describe basic parameters and possibilities of a measuring stand for high-speed cutting and milling of wood and to give information on methods of measuring and calculation of the dependence of power on feed speed and aerodynamic resis-tance. Results of measurements are illustrated by diagrams. The measuring stand will make possible to compare also effects of other important parameters in the course of machining (tree species, moisture, tool etc.) on the energy input, particularly in the region of > 10 000 r/m
