LANDSAT and how it is applied to evaluate the dynamics of the health condition of birch stands
Original language description
Methods were elaborated, which would specify factors that affect the accuracy of the output of Landsat satellite images used to evaluate the dynamics of changes in the health condition of birch stands. At the time of the investigations, in 1994-2000, thefoliage of the birch stands was very thin as a consequence of the large-scale absence of flushing in 1997. The output of this method is also specification of the degree of the foliage of the birch trees based on the altitude, age of theon the forest types in the air-polluted region of the Ore Mts. (North Bohemia). These methods can also be applied in other broadleaved stands.
