Detection of Mycoplasma agalactiae Antigen in Sheep and Goats by Monoclonal Antibody - Based Sandwich ELISA
Original language description
The total of 353 samples of swabs taken from 99 animals was tested in our study for the presence of Mycoplasma agalactiae antigen. There was collected 133 samples of swabs from sheep and 220 swabs from goats, respectively. The examined animals came fromrandomly chosen herds from different parts of the Czech Republic (64 animals) and from the district Al Karak in Jordan (35 animals). The apparent clinical symptoms of the disease were observed only in the Jordan animals. The analysis of the samples of the swabs was carried out by monoclonal antibody based sandwich ELISA. From the total number of 353 samples of swabs there was found 11 samples as positive, 10 samples as ambiguous and 332 samples as negative. These results demonstrate that positive and ambiguous findings of Mycoplasma agalactiae specific antigen were detected only in the animals of the Jordan origin whereas the Czech animals were completely negative. These findings confirmed our previous expectations that the Czech Republ
