Oral cavity disease are most frequent disease in small exotic mammals . Recently, we confirmed the apparent high incidence (30,05%, n=590) of dental disease in small herbivorous pets in Czech republic, as reported in other countries. With the growing popularity of small mammals as pet animals, the practitioners must be able to recognize normal variationsand to asses any dental disease in these animals. We see dental problems many times a dy, so the importance of veterinary dentistry is evident.

Czech description
Onemocnění dutiny ústní jsou nejčastějšími onemocněními u malých exotických savců. Nedávno jsme potvrdili vysokou incidenci (30,05%, n=590) onemocnění zůbů u malých herbivorních savců v České republice, která je stejná jako v jiných zemích. S rostoucí popularitou drobných savců jako petů, praktici musí být schopni rozpoznat normální variaci a k hodnocení jakékoliv dentálního onemocnění u těchto zvířat.
