Pathogenic isolates of E. coli and Clostridium perfringens Type A cpb2+ are at present still assumed to be the main aetiological agents of bacterial diarrhoeas in neonatal piglets in Europe. In the USA, on the other hand, toxinogenic Clostridium difficile is considered the main aetiological agent because it is the sole causative agent in 35 % of neonatal enteritis cases and is found with other enteropathogens in 25 % of other cases of enteritis . In our research into diarrhoeas caused by C. perfringensType A we have for quite some time been on the alert for the appearance of Clostridium difficile ? associated disease (CDAD) also in the Czech Republic.

Czech description
V současnosti jsou stále za hlavní etiologická agens neonatálních bakteriálních průjmů selat v Evropě považovány E. coli a cpb2+ Clostridium perfringens typu A. V USA je to ale toxinogenní Clostridium difficile, které je zde v 35 % případů jediným původcem neonatálních enteritid, v 25 % společně s jinými enteropatogeny. V rámci sledování průjmů selat vyvolaných C. perfringens typu A jsme potvrdili výskyt Clostridium difficile-associated disease (CDAD) také v České republice.
