  • Original language description

Feline lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) is a common reason for presentation in general veterinary practice. The term covers those clinical cases, which show signs of haematuria, increased frequency of urination, straining and difficulty in urination, partial and complete obstruction of the urethra, and rarely urinary incontinence. While numerous specific conditions are recognised, the majority of cases of feline LUTD is of unknown aetiology and is referred to as idiopathic feline lower urinary tract disease (IFLUTD).
