Periapical granuloma in a ferret (Mustela putorius furo) - a case report
Original language description
This paper describes the course and diagnosis of periapical granuloma in 3,5 year-old female ferret (Mustela putorius furo). The disease was manifested as a sweling of the righ maxillary region. Results of haematological and plasma chemistry analyses were uremarkable. Radiography revealed irregular apical surface thinning of the apical pulpal cavity and lysis of the lamina dura in close vicinity of the right maxillary canine apex. Therapy consists of supportive care, antibiotic administration, surgicaltooth extraction and wound debridement. All ferrets with pulpar exposure and tooth discoloration should be submitted for futher radiographic diagnostics to monitor and treat any asscociated periapical pathology.
