Assement of the effect of selected components of equine seminal plasma on semen freezability
Original language description
Seminal plasma has a big influence, whether positive or negative, on sperm motility and survival. None of the studied enzymes, electrolytes and trace elements we related to the ability of sperm to survive freezing and thawing failed to show. The exception was the concentration of vitamin E, which was statistically significant (p ? 0.05) difference between the concentrations in a group of good-freezable and bad-freezable ejaculates. The concentration of vitamin E in stallion's semen is very low and therefore it would be advisable to check this result in a larger number of samples.
