Effect of parasitic gastroenteritis on haematological markers, albumin and body condition in sheep and goats
Original language description
Parasite occurrence in sheep and goat farms is one of the main problems which the breeders and keepers have to deal with. Parasitic infection can be tolerated in low and middle intensity but when it raises more than the organism is able to accept it manifests by general health alterations. The degree of pathogenity often depends on immunity and nutrition quality. This study focuses on the severity of parasitical gastroenteritis (PGE) in comparison with body condition (BSC), haematological and biochemical parameters in sheep and goats in the Czech Republic. Alterations of analysed parameters were clearly worse in farms were we noticed inadequate nutrition. Goats are more sensitive namely during milk production. Sufficient nutrition and adequate breedingand keeping conditions are necessary.
