The expression of FZD6 in the successional dental lamina of pig and human embryos
Original language description
The pig has recently become popular as a large animal experimental model in many fields of biomedical research. This fact is based on morphological and physiological similarities between pig and human including resemblances in odontogenesis. Moreover, pig dentition is diphyodont and closely resemble human ones with the successional teeth initiated from the dental lamina. Here, we focused on the signaling in the successional dental lamina and compared protein expression pattern during pig and human prenatal development. Several developmental stages from the dental lamina initiation up to its regression were selected for dental analysis.
