Diagnostic imaging in reptiles.
Original language description
Modern methods of diagnostic imaging (e.g. radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography and diagnostic endoscopy) are a useful adjunct to the clinical examination of reptiles. Radiography is part of the comprehensive clinical examination of reptiles and can be used to evaluate bone structures, confirm or rule out the presence of mineralised eggs, identify areas of differing soft tissue density, including penetrating bite wounds, pulmonary granulomas and gastro-intestinal (GIT) foreign bodies.
