Soft tissue surgery: Ferrets
Original language description
Soft tissue surgical procedures in domestic ferrets are similar to those performed in other small animal species treated in veterinary practice. This chapter describes soft tissue surgeries commonly performed in ferrets, including resection of cutaneous masses, exploratory laparotomy, enterotomy, gastrotomy, pancreatic surgery, splenectomy, adrenalectomy, and reproductive and urinary tract surgeries. Because ferrets may be affected by surgical diseases similar to those involving dogs and cats, a basic small animal surgery text should be used in conjunction with this chapter to provide a complete understanding of the various surgical procedures.
