Original language description
Calcinosis circumscripta, also known as tumoral calcinosis, is an uncommon syndrome of ectopic deposition of calcium salts in soft tissues, which may be of an idiopathic, dystrophic, metastatic or iatrogenic aetiology. While clinical signs of calcinosis circumscripta can go unnoticed, patients may present with progressive dysphagia and discomfort depending on the location and size of the lesion.
