Original language description

It was the aim of this study to find out whether rodenticidal baits to control the field vole (Microtus arvalis) population pose a threat for free-living birds. Tests performed using artificially bred pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) revealed that these rodenticidal baits were consumed in quantities much exceeding LD50 doses and that variously coloured baits attracted pheasants as trophic sources with decreasing frequency from red, blue, black to green ones.
