Original language description
Contamination of soil and grass by PCB indicator congeners and PAHs was assessed in the marginal zone of the Brno region using HRGC and HPLC for identification and quantification of the analytes. The sampling sites were located in the vicinity of a roadleading along a leisure water reservoir and on pastures of a large farm situeted along another road. The analyses demonstrated soil contamination by PAHs and, to a lesser extent, PCB indicator congeners. Some of the PAHs, such as phenanthrene, pyrene, fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene and benzo(a)fluoranthene, as well as PCB congeners 28,52,138,153 and 180 were found also in grass samples.
