The objective of the present work was to prepare and verify the effect of the entirely plant-based diet on the performance, selected qualitative parameters of eggs and the hens? state of health. A specially prepared feed mixture containing fish meal wasused as a control diet. The tested plant-based diet administered to experimental hens produced no negative effect on egg production parameters such as number of eggs per hen or laying performance. The weight of eggs laid by experimental hens was significantly higher (61.66 g, P <= 0.01), as compared with that in the control group (60.03 g). The higher average weight of eggs in the experimental group increased the production of egg mass per layer by 540 g in 252-day experimental period.

Czech description

Cílem prezentované práce bylo ověřit vliv výhradně rostlinné diety na užitkovost, vybrané kvalitativní parametry vajec a zdravotní stav nosnic. Jako kontrolní dieta byla použita speciálně upravená krmná směs obsahující rybí moučku. Testovaná rostlinná dieta podávaná pokusným nosnicím neměla negativní vliv na ukazatele produkce vajec jako je počet vajec na nosnici nebo nosnost? laying performance. Hmotnost vajec snesených pokusnými nosnicemi byla signifikantně vyšší (61.66 g, P <= 0.01) ve srovnání s kontrolní skupinou (60.03 g). Vyšší průměrná hmotnost vajec u pokusné skupiny zvýšila produkci vaječné hmoty na nosnici o 540 g v 252denním pokusném období.
