Content of cysteine, reduced and oxidized glutathione in spermatozoa of representatives of Acipenseriformes (Acipenser baerii and A. ruthenus) as well as teleosts (Perca fluviatilis and Sander lucioperca

  • Original language description

Glutathione belongs to a vital intra- and extra-cellular protective antioxidant and is found almost exclusively in its reduced form. The ratio between its reduced and oxidized within cells is often used as a marker of cellular toxicity. The objectives ofthe study were to (i) determine both the reduced (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) and cysteine (Cys) in the sperm of the Acipenser baerii and Acipenser ruthenus, as well as in Perca fluviatilis and Sander lucioperca, and (ii) to demonstrate the differences in concentration levels between representatives of acipenseriform and teleost species. The average content of the thiols determined in the sperm samples were as follows: Acipenser baerii (cysteine 55 +-; 8 lg ml)1; GSH 126 +-; 19 lg ml)1; GSSG 49 +-; 7 lg ml)1), Acipenser ruthenus (cysteine 62 +-; 9 lg ml)1; GSH 768 +- 115 lg ml)1; GSSG 180 +-; 16 lg ml)1), Sander lucioperca (cysteine 251 +- 38 lg ml)1; GSH 185 +-; 28 lg ml)1; GSSG 93 +-; 14 lg ml)1), Perca fluviatilis (cysteine

Obsah redukovaného a oxidovaného glutathionu ve spermatu Acipenser baerii and A. ruthenus a Perca fluviatilis and Sander lucioperca

  • Czech description

Zájmem této práce bylo určit redukovaný a oxidovaný glutathion a cystein ve spermatu Jesetera sibiřského, Jesetera malého, Okouna říčního a Candáta obecného. Zaznamenali jsme rozdíli mezi těmi to druhy ryb. Průměrný obsah thiolů stanovena ve vzorku byl:Acipenser baerii (cystein 55 + -; 8 lg ml) 1; GSH 126 + -; LG 19 ml) 1; GSSG 49 + -, 7 ml lg) 1 ), Acipenser ruthenus (cystein 62 + -; 9 lg ml) 1; GSH 768 + - 115 ml lg) 1; GSSG 180 + -; LG 16 ml) 1), Sander lucioperca (cystein 251 + - 38 lg ml) 1 ; GSH185 + -; LG 28 ml) 1; GSSG 93 + -; LG 14 ml) 1), Perca fluviatilis (cystein 281 + -; LG 42 ml) 1; GSH 496 + -; LG 74 ml) 1; GSSG 138 + -; LG 21 ml) 1).
