Physiological values of selected haematological indicators in females Dwarf Lop rabbits
Original language description
The aim of this paper was to evaluate the age effect on selected haematological indicators in the Dwarf Lop females. The females at the age of 4 months, 6 months and the older ones originated from common pet stock were used. In our study, we found significant (P<0.05) changes in the haematocrit value (HCT), haemoglobin concentration (HGB), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCHC) and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC). With respect to the age, we found the highest values of the HCT, HGB and MCHC in the 4-month old females as compared to the other age two categories. In addition, we found the varying tendencies in the red blood cells count (RBC) and the white blood cells count (WBC) with the advancing age of females. The 4-month old females showed higher values of the RBC and WBC than the older ones (P>0.05).
