Changes in haematological profile of common carp after three month atrazine exposure
Original language description
Atrazine is triazine herbicide and it acts as a photosynthesis inhibitor. Although its use has been banned in the Czech Republic since September 2005, atrazine and its degradation products are still detected in waters. Many toxicological studies confirm negative effects of atrazine on fish. The aim of study was to assess haematological changes in common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) after twelve weeks atrazine exposure. Our result confirms the immunotoxicty of atrazine and negative effects of high concentration of atrazine on health status of common carp.
