    The level of cortisol is a traditional indicator of the ongoing stress response in the body, which can be detected from various matrices. Hair is one of the non-invasively collected matrices useful for the detection of chronic stress. The aim of this paper was to summarize the findings of the scientific literature on the detection of cortisol from cat hair. In this paper, we focus on the collection and processing of hair samples, factors that can influence the level of cortisol in the hair and description of scientific papers dealing with the topic.
