Can short isometric contraction influence coronary, systemic and pulmonary hemodynamics in patients with chronic heart failure?
Original language description
The aim of the study was to assess the effect of short intensive isometric contraction on coronary, systemic and pulmonary hemodynamics in 12 patients with chronic heart failure. Short maximum voluntary contraction of lower extremities muscles in patienswith severe chronic heart failure did not have any negative effect on coronary, systemic or pulmonary hemodynamics as far as physiologic breathing was maintained. Negative effects were cause by Valsalva maneuver.
