Observation of changes in heart rate after newly developed ultrashort acting beta-adrenergic blockers were applied
Original language description
The influence of the newly developed ultrashort acting beta-adrenergic blockers on the heart rate was measured on laboratory male Wistar rats with normal blood pressure. Three tested compounds were injected intravenously under general anaesthesia into the animals. At specific time intervals, the heart rate in all animals was measured from a record of their ECG. These results were converted into the percentages of perturbations of the heart rate. All evaluated compounds have shown a significant verifiable short-term bradycardic effect on the heart rate. The most significant reduction was observed in the first few minutes after i.v. administration.
