Original language description
Chronic inflammation with a wide spectrum of connected diseases (e.g., cancer, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), diabetes, and neurodegenerative diseases) is the most significant cause of death in the world. Cancer is the second leading cause of death, and accounted for an estimated 9.6 million deaths worldwide in 2018. The article summarizes possible natural sources of substances with biological activity usable in therapy these diseases and explains the mechanism of action of these compounds .
