Enterobacteriaceae isolates carrying plasmid-mediated and chromosomally-encoded carbapenemase genes from wild birds in USA
Original language description
Carbapenems are beta-lactam antibiotics used as the last choice for treatment of infection caused by multiresistant Gram-negative bacteria. Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae have been reported worldwide, including food-producing animals and environment. The aim of this study was to examine the faeces of American crows from 5 sampling sites in USA for carbapenemase-producing bacteria.
