    Titanosilicates as Oxidation Catalysts

  • Original language description

Titanosilicate zeolitic structures analogic to Beta and ZSM-5 zeolites were prepared and used in model reactions to test their catalytic behavior. Synthesis of titanosilicates was optimized with regards to minimize production cost and keep catalytic behavior on the best quality. Hydrolysis of alkoxy titanate and tetraethyl orthosilicate mixture, controlled by slow addition of tetraalkylammonium hydroxide water solution, is the key operation for optimum Ti incorporation into a titanosilicate skeleton. Todecrease price of raw materials, an alternative way of Ti-ZSM-5 synthesis was developed in which part of tetraethyl orthosilicate was replaced by silica nanosol. Titanosilicate catalysts were tested in ammooxidation of cyclohexanone, catalytic behaviorshowed the best conditions of hydrolysis (temperature and tetraalkylammonium hydroxide dosing time) and hydrothermal crystallization.
