    One of the most important methods in current scientific and technological research is the process of modeling and simulation, which is discipline with its own theory and research methodology. This paper focuses to the process of creation of simulation model of real technical device. A case study of the process of simulation and modeling is demonstrated for a real technical device ? elevator cab, in which the static mechanical properties are calculated by means of Finite element method implemented in simulation program SolidWorks.
