Time response of operating systems simulated by load balancing in Gridsim

  • Original language description

Computer is a machine of computation resources that may be utilized different users. Maximization of the resources utilization is based on the implementation of load balancing algorithm. For this reason it is important to minimize the idle time, minimize the overload, and minimize the control overhead. From this point of view, we design a dynamic and distributed load balancing scheme. The distributed character of this algorithm does not reduce the communication overhead, but also the idle time of the resources. The paradigms for generation parallel and distributed computing lie in connecting computers. The resources are usually geographically distributed in multiple administrative domains. The above mentioned freature of parallel computing can be utilized in load balancing the operating systems. We apply the load balancing approach by means of simulation capability of GridSim. The GridSim entities (user, broker, resource, information service, statistics, shutdown, and report writer) send events to other entities to signify the request for service, to deliver results, or to initiate internal actions. The toolkit supports modeling and simulation of heterogeneous Grid resources (both time- and space-shared), users and application models.
