Original language description
The paper presents small schools as a specific part of the educational system with a specific approach to pupils. The specificity is determined by the fact that they are mixed-age classes, implying personalized and differentiated teachers approach to each pupil. Within this approach, teachers use different strategies, organizational forms of work and teaching methods. The primary objective of this paper is to determine what teaching methods and organizational forms of work the teachers in small school use, and to compare these results with the situation in a normal primary school. On this basis, similar and different elements appear in the use of teaching methods, depending on the type of school. The results are based on quantitative research realizedin small schools in the Czech Republic in the 2011/2012 school year.
