The monograph presents a comprehensive approach to sustainable tourism development including social and environmental impact of tourism activities. The publication highlights the role of tourism in dealing with problems of rural areas and agriculture sector in the Czech Republic, emphasizes sustainable development of rural areas, and also inevitability of system approach in tourism management. The theoretical part defines conceptual framework (concept of sustainable tourism development, rural development, multifunctional countryside and agriculture). Research findings show that systematic approach is inevitable from the rural multifunctional role, along with cooperation between subjects active in rural areas.
