The Portrait of Italy in Czech Prose - from details to general view with the support of the concept mapping

Original language description

In the presented paper we try to appreciate the holistic look to the image of Italy, as it is portrayed in many fictional and non-fictional texts written by Czech authors mainly during the 19th and 20th century. Some of the Gestalt theory principles willbe applied to structure and to organize our effort: the principle of similarity, the principle of closure and the Gestaltic part-whole landmark. The concept "Portrait of Italy" we understand as a whole, in spite of the fact it is composed of many fragments from different texts. To record, visualize and analyze these fragments the concept mapping approach may be very helpful.

Czech description

Článek pojednává o holistickém přístupu k chápání pojmu "Obraz Itálie", tak jak je zobrazen v mnoha prozaických textech českých autorů, zejména 19. a 20 století. Aplikovány jsou některé principy Gestalt teorie - princip podobnosti, princip uzavřenosti apředevším vztah celek-část. Pojem "Obraz Itálie" chápeme jako celek, přestože se skládá z mnoha fragmentů. Pro záznam, zobrazení a analýzy těchto fragmentů je přístup pomocí pojmových map velmi vhodný.
