The article gives the overview of both absolute and relative amount of direct foreign capital invested in the Czech Republic in the years (2000 ? 2011) in the context of the whole European Union. The invested capital has its specific purpose according tobranches in the framework of CZ?NACE, this purpose has seen considerable changes in the last decade. The destinations where capital in the form of direct foreign investment comes from are important for investment in the Czech Republic, along with the amount and influence of foreign direct investment on the balance of payments of the Czech Republic as well as on the whole national economy in the last ten years.
