The paper describes the course of the project "Flexible model of the ICT-supported educational process reflecting individual learning styles" which is based on the C. A. Johnston´s model of "Unlocking the Will to Learn". The project was structured in three main phases. First, the individual learning style of each student was detected by the Learning Combination Inventory; second, students´preferences of various study materials were monitored by the questionnaire; and finally, the pedagogical experimentwas run based on the pre-test/instruction/post-test structure within the online course "Library services ? information competence and education". The received results proved expected preferences in study materials relating to the learning style but no statistically significant differences in students´ knowledge resulting from the reflection of learning styles within the distance online instruction were discovered.
