The current process of globalization has significant impacts on the Czech economy, which can be considered as predominantly positive. In relation to its geographical position, to the system of incentives and its EU membership, the Czech Republic is a relatively attractive to foreign investors. On the other hand, growing interconnectedness of markets creates strong pressure on competitiveness in some traditional sectors, which may lead to a significant decrease in their importance. One of the ways how tosolve this situation is to focus on sectors that bring multiplier effects. One of these sectors is information and communication technology (ICT) sector. The objective of this publication is therefore to specify pros and cons of ICT sector in the CzechRepublic and to draw the attention to modern technologies that can bring companies a competitive advantage and higher profit.
