Perception of Electoral Fraud in Mexican Presidential Elections after 1990
Original language description
The article deals with electoral fraud perception in Mexican presidential elections before and after implementation of extensive electoral reforms in 1994. After the theoretical introduction, fraudulent interventions in electoral process under the rule of the PRI, influencing Mexican society for 71 years, will be introduced. Then the fairness of the presidential elections in 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2012 will be considered from the perspective of electoral observers and the public. It will be examined through various indicators, such as both international and Mexican observation groups reports, public opinion surveys and voter turnout, to find out if the perception of the fairness of electoral process after 1994 has or has not become better.
