This workshop was realized on the Department of Geology, Mongolian University of Science and Technology in Ulaanbaatar. Subjects of the lectures was following: general information about the aim and preliminary results of the project FR-TI 1/543, geologyof the Tariat volcanic area, geology of the Shavaryn Tsaran deposit, mineralogy of gemstones from the deposit (pyrope-almandine, chrysolite, sanidine, bronzite, sapphire, diamond, chalcedony and obsidian) and potential industrial utilization of garnets from the deposit (abrasive materials, water filters, building materials, plasma sprayed coatings etc.)
