The current penal code describes the facts of the case of robbery in head II in special part in regulation § 173 article 1. In the basic facts of the case there is the robbery described as using of violence or threats of instance violence in intention to take something belonging to somebody else by force, while such crime is punished with imprisonment for from two to ten years. In unqualified facts of the case, the penal code defines conditions under which the punishment can be sterner – if the perpetrator commits the robbery as a member of an organised group, commits a severe injury or makes damage, commits this crime in order to enable or ease treason, terrorist attack or terror, commits damage of high extent, or causes death. Technical literature divides robberies into robbing of: financial institutions, money transfer, shops, households, vehicles and simple robberies.
