Methodology KADS Knowledge Aquisition and Documentation System was developed as a research project at the University of Amsterdam early 90. Now is the standard for creating knowledge-based system. The emphasis is on clarity and re-useability. In spite of its success in many respects, the KADS-I project had not fully reached its original goals. The KADS methodologyuntil 1989 lacked a degree of formality that hampered its understanding and that stood in the way of further development, such as automated support forvthe knowledge engineering process.
